Samsung - 28” ViewFinity UHD IPS AMD FreeSync with HDR Monitor - Black

I bought this November 2022 and it did not last a year. I figured I should write a review so people can at least be warned. The first issue is out of the box, the circle button at the bottom of the monitor for input and power does not work all of the time. You cannot adjust height with the stand given. After about 6 months of use, the screen began to go black. We presumed that something could be wrong with the PC so we tried many different things and nothing worked to fix the issue. The screen would just randomly go black. After another 6 months, the monitor completely stopped turning on. No rhyme or reason, it just wont turn on anymore. I still try it in a few different outlets hoping it will come back but to no avail. I will just be buying another brand when I get the chance.

I have had this monitor for about 3 years, and I loved it up until today. Im the middle of use it went black and it will not turn back on. All the cables have been checked, and the blue light indicates that it is "on", and my computer recognizes that that there is a monitor connected, but nothing appears on the screen. So disappointing.

The picture is good. But if you plan on having to HDMI cables connected to it and plan to switch back and forth, don't buy it. I've never had a monitor or TV have so much trouble switching between inputs. Half the time it doesn't work, the auto detect input doesn't always work either. It's seriously awful.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the HDR features of this monitor as well as the colors and the fact that you can split the screen to view two devices at the same time. I occasionally play videogames using the picture-in-picture feature while having the laptop connected at the same time.

I like this monitor, but there are some serious issues with it if you plan to use it for anything other than exactly how it's built. One, the back has a circular cutout, so if you want to mount it, you can't use anything bigger than 75x75 without spacers. Second, the vesa pattern is on the upper half of the monitor vs in the middle, and the bulk of the weight is at the bottom -- so if you want to mount this in portrait, you're going to have a tilted monitor no matter what you do. Third, the monitor tilts forwards about 15 degrees, and it can't be adjusted. Meaning if you want to put it next to another display of a diff size or make, it's not going to line up properly.
