ABC initially broadcast its western series The Young Riders for three seasons, from September 1989 through July 1992. The brainchild of producer Ed Spielmen, it dramatized the adventures of a group of young Pony Express riders, in the Nebraska Territory of the pre-Civil War days. Cast members included Stephen Baldwin, Josh Brolin, Brett Cullen and Travis Fine.
