Not well made, poor instructions on installation and setup

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We use Simplisafe for our home protection in general. Using the simplisafe smart lock was an icing on the cake. It allows for entering a password or a pin on the pad. The lock is very elegant looking and sleek.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We already had a basic SimpliSafe system at our home and I was excited to add the SmartLock to our system. My husband installed and I was surprised how unintrusive the Smart Lock is. I thought it would involve a major change to our door and lock. However, we can still use our current key and lock. It just installed over what we had. He did not drill or take anything off our door. As for how it works, we do not use our front door on a daily basis as a way to get in and out of our home (we go in through the garage) so I cannot speak to how it holds up to multiple uses everyday, but I like that I do not have to give service people or the dog sitter a key or leave the door unlocked for them, and that friends and family can get in without a key if we are not home. I also have a way into the house without a key if I ever lock myself out somehow...which has happened before. I get alerts whenever the door is locked or unlocked. It may be annoying if you are using the door a lot, but for my purposes it is helpful. I can also make sure the door is locked at any time so that our small child cannot open the door.
