This OE-style locking fuel cap has many of the same features as the original equipment fuel cap, including torque override, break-away grove and lost motion. During a crash, the cap handle is allowed some freedom to rotate (from 60 to 180 degrees) while maintaining proper O-ring compression. It aids in the prevention of potential fuel leakage in a crash or impact.
