Exploring the Gamma Quadrant, the crew of the Defiant encounter a planet where none existed before. While visiting the inhabitants, Dax (Terry Farrell) becomes intrigued with a man named Deral (Brett Cullen), who explains that the planet, Meridian, shifts between this dimension and another. Unfortunately, the time periods spent in this dimension are getting shorter -- this one will only last for 12 days. As Dax's feelings for Deral grow stronger, the two plan to stay together. While the crew struggle to stabilize the planet before it vanishes for another 60 years, Dax makes a fateful decision to cross into the other dimension to be with her new found love!.
