The Enterprise is on a course for danger when an alien life form takes over the starship...and Captain Picard's mind! While transporting a group of adversarial diplomats to a peace conference, the Enterprise passes through an unidentified energy cloud. After this incident, a crew member is mysteriously killed and Lt. Worf (Michael Dorn) experiences spells of odd behavior. Soon, other crew members begin to act strangely, as if no longer in control of their own minds. When Picard (Patrick Stewart) commands the Enterprise return to the energy cloud, the starship's officers fear for the captain's well-being, and for the safety of their own lives.
