Beverly (Gates McFadden) travels to Caldos IV to attend her grandmother's funeral. At the service, she encounters a mysterious and handsome young man who gives her a knowing look. Back on the Enterprise, the crew notes that there is something wrong with the planet's weather control system and begins to investigate. Meanwhile, Beverly reads her grandmother's journals and discovers that she had a young lover named Ronin (Duncan Regehr). When a severe storm hits the planet, Beverly takes refuge in her grandmother's house where she hears a strange male voice. He identifies himself as Ronin, a ghost that has been seducing the women in Beverly's family for over 800 years -- and she is his newest target!.
