Grill's sensor cooking only worked for a few months. Then it would almost never signal it had preheated but shut off instead. Even in manual mode it is proving unreliable, after flashing and refusing to work even after reset.

Love the OptiGrill. I have owned one for 2years, the current purchase is a Christmas gift for my son and daughter-in-law. It is so easy to use and the clean up is wondeful! No greasy mess all over your stove from grilling burgers. I use it often.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I wanted to try this because the idea of automatic sensor cooking appealed to me because I tend to overcook meat. The first thing I cooked on it was frozen burgers. I pressed the power button, the frozen button and then the burger automatic cook button and that was it! It preheated then I placed the burgers on and lowered the lid. As it cooked it went through the different colours indicating where it was during the cooking process and when it beeped the red colour for well done, I removed the burgers. The burgers were perfectly cooked. I had to repeat the process a few times because the grill is on the smaller side and I have a family of six. That would be the only negative I would have to say about this grill, it's not really family sized. Clean up was easy, the plates are easily removed and quickly washed in the sink. This grill is so easy to use that my teenagers have no problem cooking up food with this on their own. They have tried some of the recipes in the book as well. Since I've had this grill we have cooked steak, chicken breasts, fish, pork chops, turkey kabobs, hot dogs, sausages, and potatoes. All were cooked according to our preferences, although well done was usually when we removed our food. The only automatic program that didn't work out the best was the sausage, it was really overcooked. I definitely recommend trying this out.

However, my doubt is immediately gone after trying it for the first time. Steak, done perfectly to my liking. Burger, juicy, fish, non stick! I even try doing grilled cheese and as well egg toast, all surprisingly turns out great! I can't wait till winter when it's freezing outside and I have this little grill inside the comfort of my home!
