Write-Right Handwriting Protocol Developmental Pencil Grips

The Write-Right Handwriting Protocol was developed to improve proper pencil grasp and overall hand writing. It is a researched evidence-based tool that combines what is developmentally appropriate for a child as well as what a child's academic expectations are through school. Developed by leading occupational therapists, university professors, professional grade school educators, and adaptive experts, the Write-Right Protocol is broken into four developmental stages. Each stage betters the students grasp, increases legibility, eliminates their hands from getting tired during writing activities by avoiding maladaptive pencil grasps, and increases overall performance confidence.

Developed by leading developmental pediatric therapists and educational professionals. Derived using the 'neuro-developmental frame of reference'. It is used to analyze movement based on kinesiology and biomechanics. In designing the Write-Right Protocol; planes of movement, alignment, range of motion, base of support, muscle strength, postural control, weight shifts, and overall mobility was considered. It effectively introduces the "dynamic tripod" grasp which will not only be used throughout their time in school, but throughout life. The designed grip positioning is highly accurate and allows for the recommended "science triangle" to let children immobilize fingers for proper tri-pod positioning.
