Takamine was one of the first-ever guitar manufacturers that decided to introduce CNC routers and lasercutting machines in its production. With the aid of at that moment state of the art technology, ESF93, the very first SANTA FE model, was created fusing new technology and old-school handcraftsmanship. For pouring this image into the characteristic rosette inlays made by parts in a fan shape, the essential machine we had to try is a laser cutting technique. At the same time, we had to introduce a CNC routing machine to create an unconventional ditch to fit the accurately laser crafted rosette parts into, unlike the old school circle cutting rosette hole which is grooved by a circle cutter. Since 30 years ago, the daybreak to adopt the highly precise crafting machines in the world of acoustic guitar making, it was affected a big part in guitar designing later on.
