Great purchase for my elderly parents. I like these features: portable, not permanent eye-sore to the home exterior, and only the weight of the person in the wheelchair needs to be supported. Only one flaw- it was reported to me that one screw or fastener was missing. It was still usable. My dad walks backward with my mom facing away from him to descend the ramp. Then he pushes her forward to enter the house again. It is used in the attached garage where they already had arm rails installed on either side of the steps. The car is moved out of the way. I ordered the 10 foot length and recommend that as it requires less effort to push the person uphill.
I am using this product as a wheelchair ramp. It was easy to extend and install. We have a 20" drop on the three steps. I chose to use the one hole for a screw at the upper end of the ramp and then decided to drill an opposing hole just for a bit more assurance, although that was not really required. The ramp easily supports the weight even fully extended to 11'. Every time we use this, I deduct dollars in my head. Pretty soon it will pay for itself, considering we were lifting our transport chair up and down three steps. I highly recommend this product! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Sturdy Ramps that I'm using to push my wife's wheelchair up and down my back steps. The 10 foot length works well on the 18 inch rise in the slope of the steps. I'd feel confident in using these ramps if the rise was 3 or 4 inches higher. The price seems reasonable when you consider that I was paying $300 to a medical transport company each time my wife needed to go to the doctor's office. A good solution to a temporary problem (my wife will be back on her feet in three months).
We've only used it once but it will probably meet our need for a ramp that is used occasionally. The only negative that lingers in the memory from the one time that we used it is the adjusting of the track width to accommodate the width of the wheelchair wheels.
I ordered this set of ramps, after returning the roll a ramp, which didn't fit our mini van. I'm sure these ramps will work for some chairs but because of the anti tip wheels at .back of the go chairs, there's no way to make the ramps work. because of the return shipping costs vs the actual cost of the ramps, I am donating them to a veterans organization..They are lightweight and easy to handle just won't work for the pride chairs we own.
