10 Year Smoke CO Alarm w Voice

Purchased in April of 2021, lasted a little over a year before it started giving off false a false fire alarm in May of 2022. The silence function doesn't really work even when used for the first time. After several minutes of trying to hold the button down, I managed to silence it, but then within 5 minutes, it turned back on and the silence function was totally ineffective, so it had to be taken down, smashed with a sledgehammer, then thrown in the trash. The 10 year battery is completely useless if it can't last even 2 years without needing to be destroyed because the silence feature does not function. I'm pretty sure they make them too sensitive on purpose so that you have to pay for a new one every year even though they claim they will last 10 times that long. When I first bought it in 2021, it was $36, and now in 2022 it is $50 and change. So if you can tolerate the constant earsplitting noise without smashing it, it may be worth it to try and get a refund, so First Alert doesn't keep making a profit for their willful incompetence. Unfortunately pretty much all fire alarms use this non-working silence button now, so they are all bad no matter what kind you get.

Junk do not buy alarm goes off and won't stop. I bought two and both of them did this.
