Legend Series 1 HP EZ-Mount Sound Insulated Garbage Disposer

This is the second waste king that I have installed. In our previous house, we had the insinkerator. It burned out after 4 years. I replaced it with the waste king and had no issues. I did the installation myself with no issue and took about 45 minutes. New unit was quieter and had more power. In our new house, the insinkerator burned out after just a year. I replaced it with the same model of waste king and with similar results. The unit is much quieter, and was very easy to install.

I'm really disappointed to say that I never got to try this highly recommended disposal because it was not compatible with my sink. It was too large, and needed an electrical outlet to plug into, whereas mine was set up to be hard-wired. So sad - I was looking forward to it's quiet motor!

The disposer is of excellent quality and has super power. A full five star product. the E-Z mount is good in theory, however... I had a difficult time getting both tabs to engage at the same time. It took numerous attempts holding a rather heavy unit with one hand while manipulating the lock ring with the other. Once in place and tightened, works well. Mount only rates one star or less. The excellence of the overall product lifts it to four stars.

After reading many reviews on different disposals, this one got the best reviews and was better deal for the 1 HP. Replaced it with my Badger 1/3 HP. Can't compare. The Badger couldn't handle carrot or potato peelings without clogging. This one chopped the carrot peelings and ends without any issues. For being a 1 HP it was not anymore noisier then the 1/3 HP. Would recommend over the expensive Badger brands any day.

Installed this a week ago, so it's very early to know how this thing will play out. Puzzles me why they ask you to review a product that's brand new.... Unless it's a total out-of-box failure or damaged during delivery it would be unlikely that it won't work. All I can say at this point is that it's quiet and strong and does what it's supposed to do.
