Brinkmann 40" Smoke 'n Pit Charcoal Smoker

I think that overall, the money paid for this smoker was money well spent. The only thing is that after you buy it, you'll have to make some modifications to it. What I did is got a new thermometer. If you do anything to it, at least do that. I also cut some 12 gauge scrap metal, bent it to fit the bottom of the firebox, because the metal is so thin, I was afraid the coals would eventually weaken and burn through the bottom. I don't think it was absolutely necessary, but will make it last years longer. It also has gaps that leak, making it difficult to maintain temp. BUT.... For the space and quality overall, it's worth it.

As with any grill, it has it's pros and cons. I have had the grill for over a year now and the only problem I have is warping has made it hard for my middle grill to stay in. but that is easily fixed with a little elbow grease. Being a native Texan and a frequent BBQer(griller for the northerners), this grill has lived up to expectation and more. The thermo, I don't really pay attention to, because I just don't need it. I would recommend this grill. Once you get your system down, it does an excellent job for you.

My wife and I are only weekend BBQers, but love love love this product. I read that other reviewers have had a problem with the thermometer, and we have not to date, but I have to also say that up until having this grill we have never had nor have we ever used a thermometer, and for many this is not as big of an issue as some have made it out to be. The only complaint I have is that I dont find enough time to use this product!!!

I BOUGHT THIS FOR MY HUSBAND. HE LOVES IT! WE HAVE HAD IT AT THE MOST 3 WEEKS AND HAVE USED IT AT LEAST HAVE A DOZEN TIMES! IT'S A ROOMY GRILL AND THE MEAT TASTES EXCELLENT! I WAS LOOKING EVERYWHERE-TARGET,HOME DEPOT, LOWES- AND I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH MY DECISION! =)

For the cost, this smoker is great, If you want a 1000,00 smoker for 138.00 don't buy this one, But if You want one that will let you smoke and enjoy some good Tasty food, This is for you. I'm happy with it. Down the road I may make a few mods to it,
