First Alert 2092F Waterproof and Fire-resistant Combination Safe, 1.3 Cubic-ft

Good value for a solid construction safe that is fire proof rated as well as water resistant. Extra keys to unlock instead of combo is a plus. Combo sequence is tricky for me to remember (hence keys), so items will be very secure. Great for average household needs with the added fire protection for documents. The safe arrived on time and in good condition. Only one problem, the combination did not work. After calling customer service and going through the complicated unlocking procedure on the phone, it still would not open. Their suggestion was to haul this heavy safe back to the store. Luckily there is also a key lock, so we could open the safe. Having worked with safes before, I knew that by removing the inside cover of the door, I could determine the correct combination. Of the 4 combination numbers, 3 were off by 1 or 2 numbers. This is unacceptable. It seems there is a problem with quality control on the product. I also discovered that one could eliminate the first number, making the unlocking procedure much simpler. Although we are satisfied with the safe now, I would not recommend this product.

I like the safe and how it operates. There is a plastic or polymer frame around the door of the safe that was damaged. I'm not sure if it happened during shipping, but the safe was well packed and the box was not dented which would lead me to believe the manufacturer packed the safe with the damage already done. Very smooth operation of product and excellent service from Walmart.

I read the reviews from others & decided to purchase this safe. I could have spent more than this price, but why. This is all I need. Weighs 100 lbs & easy to move but hard to remove from home. some concerns I had from other reviews: 1. moisture when delivered - not an issue. I wiped it down inside & out & does not seem to be an issue. 2. combo too easy - seems not to be an issue. It opened the first time easy but does not seem to be easy to open. 3. cheap construction - seems well built. Especially for the price. 4. Key lock is a nice feature in case combo not working. I have had this a very short time. I hope it continues to be the same as it is now.

It meets all my expectations in what I was looking for. Heavy duty, lots of space, adjustable shelf, and easy to use. Love that the hinges are on the inside also.
