You would never know the phone was not brand new. It took me about an hour to setup all the important account information that Apple and Straight Talk need. At the end of the day, you will need your credit card information and what goes with it more than anything else. No surprise there, and I have found it best to print copies of all the questions and answers and the save the printed copies with other important documents. The Iphone 5 is by far the best "I" device I have used from Apple. It is just about perfect in the way it responds to your touch on the screen and it is super smooth to use. For me at least, I would not trust myself not to drop it because of its small size and shape without first putting it in a protective case. I choose an Otterbox and it fits perfectly and hopefully will do its job when accidents happen. One of my first free downloads was the Kindle app. I assumed that I could buy Kindle books from "A" and then read them on my Iphone. My first purchase was to be a good get starting guide for the Iphone. That did not work out so well and it took me another hour to figure out that I needed to use the browser to sign into "A" and to buy books with. Once you own the book, then you can use the Kindle app to read it. There is so much that you can do with the Iphone, you will be missing out if you don't get a good book on the device that you can use as a reference. I was not able to beat the Wal-Mart / Straight Talk combination on price and Verizon has excellent service in the rural area we live it. This model is worth the extra cost, in my opinion, and it should hold its value better than anything else on the market right now.

I wish I had made this change a long time ago. I was using Verizon for many, many years and had a very good plan that was much lower than the newer plans they offer. I was paying about $43 for a basic phone with 300 minutes, no text or data. Our son purchased a Straight Talk phone and used the $45 Unlimited Talk, Text and Data Plan and was very pleased with the service. I decided to look into it and was surprised to see that they were offering and Apple iPhone 5. I currently have an iPad mini that I carry a lot of information on but need to find wi-fi when I am away from the house if I need to connect to the internet. I was very pleased to get the refurbished iPhone 5. It arrived at my local Walmart store without shipping charges, was in excellent shape and included a $45 Straight Talk Plan. I now have unlimited Talk, Text and 2.5GB of Data as compared to the $43 I was paying for a basic 300 minute Verizon Plan. I was pleased to find out that the iPhone 5 uses the Verizon towers and gets excellent coverage no matter where I am, and 3G most of the time. I have used the phone quite a lot over the last month and have used less than 100mb of data when away from wi-fi. It is comforting to know that I will not have to rely on public wi-fi when away from home now. The other great thing is that I can easily back-up the iPhone 5 to iCloud and my computer for all of my data, documents, books, music, calendars, contacts and other information. It also shares this content with my iPad mini. If I choose, I can use either the iPhone 5 or iPad mini to play any content on my TV using wi-fi through Apple TV. I also found that I can use the Bluetooth capability to listen to any audio with Bluetooth headphones or play the audio through the Bluetooth system in my car. I also purchased Otterbox Protective case for the phone and a Walmart Accidental Damage Plan. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing the iPhone 5 through Straight Talk and was skeptical about customer service. I initially called customer service to set-up the iPhone and was very pleased with the time they took to help me set-up the iPhone 5. They stayed with me on the phone until everything was working properly. I have had several other occasions to call customer service and have received excellent attention and guidance in helping me understand the use of the phone and the services offered, including renewal of service plans. All-in-all, I would recommend the Sraight Talk iPhone 5 and Service Plans to anyone. In fact, many of my friends are looking into it now based on my recommendations.

Unit I got was flawless. Runs perfect, looked brand new. With service this cheap, why go with the big companies? This will very quickly pay for itself. Only negative I can see is the wifi needs a strong signal compared to my iPad, but that is to be probably to be expected from a smartphone. Considering the up front cost, get yourself an Otterbox case. Keep it protected. They are cheaper here than from the manufacturer.
