The shredder does a good job. It is best not to overload it. It meets our needs and I would recommend it for household use.

This shredder cuts the sheets of paper really small, and it is an easy clean up as well. It has a safety button on the back of it to make sure you have it on and off. The motor is very loud but effective in shredding the paper and it is jam free. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a shredder.

I ordered this shredder when my old one "retired." I researched quite a few products and after reading all of the specs and reviews I decided on this one. I had quite a bit of paper to shred for it's first use and it performed great. I kept the paper amounts low per recommendations to about 4-5 pieces at most at a time and it didn't jam. It did shut off for about 30 minutes or so to cool down but after that it worked fine.

I have had this shredder only a few days and it has not been subjected to heavy use, but so far it has performed admirably. My old shredder finally gave out after many years, and this Gear Head has been an extremely satisfactory replacement. It is fairly quiet, shreds everything I slide into it, and I definitely recommend it for home use. I particularly like the removable basket. It avoids the problem of having to lift a heavy motor housing to empty the waste basket. Be aware, the instructions included with mine state that you plug it in, set the switch on top to auto, and you're ready to shred. NOT SO. There is an on/off toggle switch on the back of the unit. Don't forget to turn it on before using the shredder.

It is easy to operate; has a see-through section on the front side so we can tell when the basket needs empting.
