Cobra ESD 767 Radar Detector

From the feel, weight, and performance of this detector, all is lacking for this model. I would visually see the police cruiser and roadside speed cameras before this detector went from no notification to full alert. Basically, there is no slow beeps progressing to fast beeps. It's : No beeps... You drive around a corner ....no beeps.... You see the police car.... and 0.5secs later the Cobra 767 is lit up like a Christmas tree and alerting at full beeps. Do not buy this detector. If you do keep your receipt.

I used this radar detector with high anticipation of it working well on the way to Michigan recently. This radar detector is very poor quality. Driving in Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio and Michigan, the Kentucky State Police have to be within 1000 feet of you, before this detector goes off-if they aren't busy well to late then and they were in the south bound lane in Kentucky, this detector went off. Seen up to three Ohio State Police Cars. One case in particular-the Ohio State Police, I'm going around a corner-low and behold one sitting on the right side as I'm heading north, he's pointed south, nothing at all from this detector. After a couple three miles up the interstate on I-75, I see the trooper in my rear-veiw, the detector does absolutely nothing. I scoot over to the right lane, the trooper passes me and goes on ahead, again this detector didn't sound off or anything. The trooper or State Police pulls over an 18 wheeler. Then as I get further up the Interstate 75 North, I see 2 Boone County Deputy Cars, this detector doesn't make a sound, nothing at all, one sitting at a 90 degree angle in the median, no sound at all from this detector. When I seen the Kentucky State Police They were on the opposite side of the median and heading south, this detector won't sound off until they are about 1200 feet from you--it's too late then. This detector is fair when it comes to warning signs on the Interstate. And it does a lot of beeping in the city around buildings that have alarm systems-actually a waste. I had this detector mounted right in the center of my windsheild where it could detect 360 degrees. This detector isn't worth the price, I'm going to get the $100 dollar one.
