Fiskars 3-Piece Home Decor Sewing Starter Set, Purple

The set of 3 came with purple scissors, purple rolling cutter and a knife akin to Exacto which is very sharp but with the convenience of a safety plastic cap. The rolling cutter is one piece retractable, so it is very convenient and can cut though at least 3 layers of cotton with pressure. You will need to use a self healing mat to protect your working surface. The scissors are comfortable but not as sharp as the original Orange Fiskars or a 42 year old pair of orange Marks scissors. But it still cut through two kayers of fabric without issue. For $20 for the set, it is very reasonable. Hence The 5 stars. To get a pair like the old Fiskars or my old Marks, one would need to pay at least $30 or higher, the purple color is beautiful.

Scissors that can be used for non-sewing are sharp. Rotary cutter Is ok, could be a little sharper. Detail knife is handy. All together a good beginners set.

Perfect kit to finish any job. Safety and job well done. The scissors are comfortable and very sharp, although the plastic seems a bit brittle,the shape makes easy to use. The rotary cutter is great and very sharp even has a protector. The knife is very sharp too. This kit is perfect for crafts and can be used with a wide variety of fabrics, paper and various products. I even used them for wrap the holiday gifts. It makes my life simple.

Using the Fiskars 3-piece sewing starter set scissors, rotary cutter and knife, I was able to make some interesting new design masks for gifts this winter season. The scissors helped make the cutting so convenient. They fit in my hand really well and are easy to cut with. I found that if you cut heavier fabrics with the rotary cutter that makes a thicker material have a smoother edge. You just have to be careful as it is razor sharp. The built in safety cap is so helpful and easy to push into place. The precision knife cutter that came with it was very handy to cut the pattern corners that are always so difficult to get to. The knife is extremely sharp as well and should be handled carefully and capped when not in use and kept away from little hands. Overall I see being able to use this set for many sewing projects in the future! Very pleased with this set.

Wow, this purple set of 3 items is very nice to have if you are into making decorations. The color is lovely. All 3 items, the rotary cutter, scissor, and detailing knife all seem very sturdy and very sharp, perhaps because they are brand new so I am hoping they will continue to be sharp for long. I find the detailing knife very useful to carve shapes from paper to poster. It is amazing! The handle is made of stainless steel so this one will surely last. I like that it came with a cap on top for protection. The rotary cutter is new to me so I used it on cutting fabric that I plan to sew. It works fairly well and one tip I like to give is to do the measurement and draw the lines to be cut beforehand. The scissor is great although we have a lot of such at home, so I am more thrilled to have new items like the knife and the rotary cutter. I believe you can even use the rotary cutter to cut pizzas! These tools are sharp so make sure children stay away from them. Overall, I highly recommend this product for cutting fabric, carving papers, and other small decorative tasks.
