It used to be moist and full of flavor. The last two bags I bought were dry, brittle, and practically tasteless. I will not waste my money on this product again.

I was in the mood, and going with another reviewer's opinion I chose the Sweet and Hot Great Value Beef Jerky in the jumbo (6.2 ounce) size, the bag says six servings. Wink. Wink. I rarely buy jerky but I'm enjoying this. Not overly salty, nice chew, but not too dry, little kick of the heat, but it doesn't take over or linger. The sweetness is pronounced but not cloying. I've had better jerky, but it has all been homemade. This does fine until somebody makes some. For me the one negative is the MSG, nearly all commercial jerky has it which is why I rarely buy it. On the plus side; no high fructose corn syrup. I would recommend it to a friend in the market for beef jerky. Since this is the first jerky I've had in nine years, I'd say I'm good for a while.

Just a little bit sweet and the hot isn't overpowering. Nice texture and moisture level. Not so hard you feel like you're trying to chomp thru cardboard. The usual few pieces that must be gristle or tough skin that you just have to chew all the flavor out, then spit out the rest. The Great Value brand at least takes some of the sting out of the cost at a little over a dollar an ounce, but it's still more per pound than prime rib!! Insane, but I'm not willing to go thru all the fuss and time to make my own, so I'll keep buying! LOL
