The pieces do not stay together ...ugh so frustrating! and it's much smaller than expected and the weapons are extremely too small!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We got the Star Wars Lightsaber Academy Interactive Battle Lightsaber after wanting a lightsaber for a very long time. This particular lightsaber not only lights up but it also changes color, plays various noises and interacts with your phone or tablet! This lightsaber is super durable and feels very sturdy when you use it, I was really impressed with this because I've found a few lightsabers that weren't so solid and sturdy but this one definitely is. The app is very easy to download on your device, it takes up approximately 220 mb of space and downloaded fairly quickly for me. It does require bluetooth to be turned on however it doesn't seem to take very much out of my battery and definitely doesn't use much mobile data, if any. In the app you're able learn different jedi stances, practice the stances either in sequence or by themselves, you can also challenge your mentors who taught you the stances - The mentors include Luke Skywalker, Yoda, Rey, Kylo Ren and Darth Vader. Each mentor has three difficulties to choose from - Easy, medium and hard. Also included inside the app is a control to change the color of the lightsaber from blue to red to green. There are three parts to the app - Battle, Training and Database. The battle part of the app allows you to battle iconic Star Wars characters. Training allows you to learn the different stances and strikes of Jedi and Sith. The Database keeps track of your training sessions. The lightsaber does need 3 AAA batteries that do not come with it. The battery compartment also requires a screwdriver to open. The handle of the lightsaber is approximately 6 inches long and is fairly easy for my 7 year old to hold and control. The overall length of the entire toy extended is about 22 inches long. This toy is so much fun for not only kids but teens and adults too. I find it interacts with my device extremely smoothly and we haven't experienced any issues at all. Highly recommended!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I turned on the lightsaber it scared the mess out of me because it started talking. You have to download the app to use it which at first wouldn't conneCT so we had to keep trying for 10 minutes. Your able to train which was no fun to me because I didn't understand it (haha) but my daughter understood and enjoyed playing with it . The light saber also makes sound effects and depending on who you pick it would light up green,blue,red. The lightsaber gives your child plenty hours of fun.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Every Star Wars fan needs one of these. My kids are 13 and 14 years old. They are both Star Wars fans. My 13 yoa daughter was the one that took it out of the box and set up the app on her phone. She was able to set the app up in a couple of minutes and was training in the Jedi Academy in under 5. There are 6 different masters to train under and range in difficulty. Both my son and daughter fight to play. I went out and bought a second light saber so they can play against each other. I am not really that big of a Star Wars fan, but actually like playing with the light saber. I was learning the moves just like in the movies. I have to say that this is a fun toy and excellent exercise. If you have more then one child I suggest getting 2 light sabers so they can play against each.
