I tried dying my hair twice with this product and the results are only in the front. I followed the directions to a T both times and I've dyed my hair many times in the past. This is I think the worst it's ever come out. I have dark hair, but the lighter pieces in my hair didn't change in the slightest. They're still light brown. I was really looking forward to having metallic blue hair.
Forgot to do a before pic. But, here's my after. This SAVED my hair, and save me a ton bc I didn't have to go to the salon. Almost every bit of the brasiness is gone (it was REALLY bad). The color is exactly what I wanted.....the silvery blonde look with greyish at the root.... I had prelightened my hair to a super light blonde, almost platinum. So, if ur trying to use this on unlightened or dark hair, it's not going to do anything. It's a color deposit, not a lift and deposit. Anyways, my hair feels amazing and I will most def be using it again!!!!!!
If I could give this negative stars I most definitely would!!!!! I have dark hair so I knew it wouldn't end up bright blue but I left it in for 45 min rather than 30 and there was literally NO CHANGE!!!!! NOTHING!!!! Didn't even darken my hair a little. I wish I could get my money back since it is almost $2 more than any other dye in my hometown store but I will NEVER suggest this product to anyone!!!
My hair was a very light blond, almost whiteish. It had been since June 15th since I last colored it (to help alleviate grassiness)- Except the roots, about an inch long. You can see the silverish roots, especially when wet. So... I figured, lets do it. The color on the box matched the silver growth perfectly. I love the whitish silver look and wanted it all to blend in. It blends in all right... Just not what I want! Now it is a deep purple-gray, much, much darker than pictured. I hope washing it out with help lighten it. I am embarrassed to leave my home with this color... and I have had almost every natural color that I have been doing myself since the early 90's. Due to the uniqueness of this colored, I actually followed the directions.
I have naturally black hair, which has turned white at the temples and pepper and salt over the rest of my head. I've been wearing 2 tone hair for years since the temples went white at age 35, they've been red, sunset orange and when I got tired of black touch up and the other color touch ups I tried Smokey Steel, it gave the black hair an ultra violet-indigo hint to it and a more true color on the temples and the hair I bleached going around the back of my head. I'm getting kind of tired of the way faded red peek-a-boo hair in the under hair and want to o with purple this time. Since Smokey Steel worked so well before I'm trying Amethyst Chrome this time. I see a lot of people say that nothing happened to your color when you used it, you do realize that the sample colors and the model pictures are based on bleached hair. If you put it on dark brown or black hair, you won't see it until you are in sun light. Never had it fade to fast on me, either but then I use a volumizing no sulfate shampoo and conditioner for colored hair. use cool water to wash hair which keeps the cuticle shut and won't release the color as fast, maybe that's your fading problem. What you dark haired people need to do is go to Sally's and get the special High Lift formula colors that lighten dark hair while they color it. I promise you, the reds always fade fast even when permanent or bleach and treat your hair before using one of these metallic colors if you want what's on the front of the box. These colors here are NOT high lift colors so don't expect the same results if you have darker hair. How do I know all of this? I was a hair and nail tech for 30 years.
