Whirlpool - 1.6 Cu. Ft. Full-Size Microwave - Stainless Steel

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) We searched for a new microwave for weeks before finding this one. We needed a specific external size to fit an existing space and this one met our requirements. This model is totally programable to meet my needs as well as having the idiot buttons for one touch cooking and defrosting. I am very happy that we purchased this microwave as it is perfect for our needs.

I got this microwave with the purchase of my home. No issues until the second year (out of warranty) with the control panel, specifically the start button which deems it useless right now. Unable to use this basically brand new microwave at this point. I've researched online on how to repair, however it seems the control panel part is quite expensive and probably not worth repairing. I'm very hesitant on buying another model to fit the space and trim. At this point, I would not recommend this product. I would have avoided myself but like I said earlier It came with the house.

I too came on this site looking for answers/ support from other purchasers experiencing the same issues with faulty control panels. Initially found the issue to be intermittent, over the course of the past several months and now the unit is completely unusable. Digital display is distorted and several buttons do not work at all now, most jmportantly the power button. This has been an ongoing issue and obviously a known concern with this model for quite some time according to the reviews The unit belongs to my Parents, who are both Seniors and they depend on it to meet her daily nutrition needs. I would have expected better from the Whirlpool Brand, which is why they invested in a more expensive product, assuming that with the Whirpool brand they could trust in the quality. We have been unable to source any user serviceable parts, and it is likely the cost to repair (closest repair facility is hours away) will exceed the cost of a new unit, however neither option is financially feasible for them at this time.

I came to the website to look into whether other purchasers have experienced the same issues as I have. Surprise, surprise… same issues. I've had this product for 4 years, after 2 years the clock no longer displayed the time properly. Currently, the 3,6, clock and timer buttons no longer work. What absolute garbage this product is.

I received this microwave about three years as part a new house we bought. First the LCD light broke and now start button stopped working. It's a useless piece of technology and I won't recommend to buy it. These appliances should last little longer than three years imho.
