I have no idea how this passed any sort of screening but there are several different noises this thing makes and 2 of them are almost constant. We replaced our fridge because the noise it started making after all these years and this one is hands down louder already new. The fan that blows the cold air has got to be the cheapest of all fans to make this much noise...but it seems to fit the bill with the rest of the quality. The ice is slow even with fast ice on ( we got 1/4 of a bin in 24 hours ) and the shelves are flimsy with bad layout. They could have added another shelf in the freezer ( or 2 ) because there are spots for them and needed, but overall nothing compares to how loud this is....avoid 100% if you will spend any sort of time around this.

However we found that regulating the temperature is a bit of a challenge. The other issue is the turn off button for the ice should of been easier to access not an ideal spot. Also found the freezer a lot smaller than my original Kenmore fridge. We have a big freezer down stairs and so we need to put all our frozen meat in the freezer down stairs. I will update a review in a year hopefully will still be working.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Great refrigerator so far! Ice and water dispensers work perfectly. Great space inside even if limited by counter depth. Replaces a Kitchen Aid unit that ice and water function had failed within a year, the inside drawer and shelves kept breaking , fridge doors would not always shut properly which posed issues, and thebottom drawer freezer was challenging to use and see what was inside So far the Whirlpool unit is a great replacement and 100& functional!
