I've had my washer for 4 years. It was working great until it started leaking about 6 months ago. Ive had plumbers out twice to clear the underground pipe. Recently I hired an appliance repairman to check out the machine. He couldn't find anything wrong. It still leaks after every wash. The water is coming from under the machine. I don't know what to do next.
So far, so good after a couple months. No start-up issues what so ever. Easy to use. The operating instructions are pretty good and worth reading. The quality seems great and hopefully that turns out to be true. The only significant drawback I have found is that I cannot customize the default settings or store even one customized cycle setting. Hopefully, LG fixes this or at least patches the Smart ThinQ App. Still gets 5 stars from me.
Purchased this unit, along with the matching dryer. Washer drum shakes violently during the spin cycle when washing jeans, towels or anything other than light loads. Maybe the unit wasn't balanced? I checked it with a level and it was fine. Its supposed to have auto balance technology, but it doesn't work. Also, the run time on the normal cycle is never the same (it varies from 29 minutes to 50 minutes) and the clothes don't come clean. Matching dryer has a light that doesn't come on until you manually push the power button and it needs to run a couple of cycles before the clothes are dried. LG used to make a quality product. Not anymore.
Pros: - Washer is ABSOLUTELY SUPERB at washing and rinsing clothes! - Uses VERY little water and still manages to get clothes sparkling! - HUGE capacity! - Sanitary and Bedding cycles are great! - I find this washer to be SUPER quiet...even on the highest spin speed setting! Not Game Changers for us but things to consider: - I found there was a learning curve when using this washer. Not a “set it and forget it” type of washer. But only took me about three days to figure out and I feel it's really worth it! (Seriously....VERY trivial) Cons: - Brightest Whites cycle is a disappointment....can't select Extra Hot water. Better off using Sanitary or Allergiene cycles for whites. - Cold Wash option is useless....as I can simply select Cold as my wash temp...would MUCH rather this had been a soak option instead. - No light in washer - Cannot stand the tinted windows Verdict: Aside from very minor caveats, this washer is truly excellent for the purpose it serves!! You should seriously consider giving this washer a look when shopping for one! We really love this LG unit and it truly fits our needs quite well!
I bought the LG steam inverter direct drive washer and dryer. The washer is HORRIBLE!!! How can the clothes wash if there is not enough water in it. The clothes still smell dirty and has a strong detergent smell like it was just thrown onto dirty clothes. All of the clothes don't even get wet. I cut the amount of clothes I put in the washer in half and they still smell.. I hope LG fixes this problem. I understand the point is to conserve water, but if I spend this much on a washer and dryer I don't mind having a little bit more water in the washer. I had such high expectations and was severely let down. If this is the type of products LG puts out, I will not be buying another. Now I'm contemplating buying another washer to replace the one I bought just 2 months ago
