We purchased similar model (W17800CW) a few years ago and have been dealing with scrud, which is a waxy/dirty flake build up that stains clothes. The alleged cause is using fabric softeners, which result in a chemical reaction, and the low agitation at the base of the drum prevents the scrud from being removed during rinse cycles. We don't use fabric softeners and have followed cleaning and maintenance instructions without success.

We are on our 2nd LG WT7800CW Washer and it is worse than the first one. This washer makes more noise in the washing cycle than than a jet taking off at the airport. The machine is perfectly balanced and does clean the clothes but the racket is beyond description. We were solidly LG people, phones, TV, Refrigerator, etc. but this product shouldn't have ever been released to the public.

My previous washer was an impeller so I am familiar with how they work. In my opinion, a washer that doesn't wash is a useless machine! It is quiet, because most of the cycle it sits idle and does nothing. When it does move, it tangled everything! It then tries to balance the load which it can't because it is tangled. So it fills to the top with water trying to untangle. It then begins to agitate but now there is so much water, the clothes are floating on top and although the water is moving below them, the clothes on top, don't ever get wet. Full cycle and numerous items bone dry. If you want fabric softner, forget turbo wash. Following the spin cycle, when there is no water remaining, it dispenses fabric softner into the bottom of the washer, then immediately drains it out completely without touching the clothes, then spins while it sprays water on your clothes to rinse. You must babysit every load no matter what cycle you use. Then LG wants to send a tech to inspect but you have to give him a 4 hour window - during the week - they don't work week-ends. IN MY OPINION - HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND COSTLY - 15% RESTOCKING FEE TO RETURN THEM FOR A WASHER THAT ACTUALLY WASHES.

This replaced a very old LG washer which was top of the line when we bought it. There are some features on the WT7800 I like a lot, such as that it is top-opening. I like the features on the touchpad, though I doubt I will ever use the wifi. It is a lighter machine overall, which is great; the trade-off is that the body can be prone to denting. What I do miss is having a shorter delicate cycle. This machine has one, but it is a long one. The real issue I have with this machine is that the spin cycle TWISTS sheets, blankets, towels- anything large- into ropes. That cannot be good for the fabric, and they have to be untwisted and shaken out before put into the dryer. If that doesn't bother you, it is a very good machine overall with excellent features. Our last LG washer & dryer lasted over 14 years, from what we could remember and needed virtually no repairs. The quality of those machines was so good that I refused to consider any other brand when we had to replace them. I hope these last as long!

We have been washing with the washer a couple of weeks now. I can't think of a load where I haven't had to go in several times each load to re-adjust the balance of the load to get it not to either error out or bang loudly. Not been a good experience so far. Tried to reach to help chat, but I ran out of time. will try again. This washer comes highly recommended by a number of companies, sad it been "unfit for use" for me. Thinking of returning if can't get it to work
