PowerA Nintendo Switch, Wired Controller, Chrome Peach, 1506372-01

My favorite part of this Wired Controller (Mario) is the detailed artwork on the controller! The entire controller is covered in fun designs and a cheerful and beloved Mario! It is the perfect size and lightweight, easy to use the controls...especially for my kiddos who aren't fully used to the new Nintendo Switch controller yet. The only thing is I hoped it would have had the rubbery, grip-like analog stick but it does not. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I got this for my son because he plays this game. I love how bright the colors are on this controller. I gave it to my son and let him play with it and asked what he thought (since I'm not a gamer). He said the buttons are nice and smooth to hold and highly responsive to the touch. He also said that the wire doesn't easily slip out of the docking station either. He said the only thing he would change is to make the controller just a little bigger to be more comfortable; however, it is the standard size so that isn't a negative against it. As a mom I think this is great because he has already used it for hours upon hours of gaming and it has yet to show any wear and tear on it. No color fading, and the joy sticks are still intact. I cannot say enough about how great the cord is protected when in use. The USB connector is recessed which helps a ton with not getting bent or damaged. This is always a worry, especially with young children using it. The controller fits your hand well, and works exactly as it should. It is perfect for the whole family to use. Playing with the joy cons is good when playing the switch on the go, but when docked, something is missing. I personally think a decent D-pad is needed for proper console play, that's where the PowerA wired controller comes in. The controller feels nice in your hands, it has just the right weight for longer gaming sessions. The top Shell of the controller had a soft touch finish, while the underside has a black textured finish. I really like the artwork on the controller, link swinging his master sword while playing Zelda! All the buttons feel really responsive, the face buttons have a nice grip to them and when pressed, give a nice resistance. the shoulder and trigger feel really good when pressing them, though the trigger feels more like a button than a trigger. The analog sticks feel good, they give a nice resistance and when pressing down on them, give a nice click. The middle of the analog stuck had a flat smooth surface and around the edges there is a lifted ridge to catch your finger. They are placed like an Xbox controller, which isn't a bad thing, once playing you don't really notice. The D-Pad has a nice gold finish to it which goes with the color scheme of the controller, it works really well feels very sturdy and is a welcome addition to the joy cons face buttons. My only minor complaints are the lack of rumble and being wired, they supply a generously lengthy USB cord. These are minor issues for me and do not Maher the controller bad, in fact I recommend this controller too anyone looking for a proper controller but do not want to go with the Nintendo pro controller. I loved trying the mario controller for wii switch for free through bazaarvoice tryit community. This controller is bright red and boasts mario as the character on display. The controller is super easy to use and fun for all ages including those who are older but love video games.
