The hose had cracks in at that we were not aware of and we turned it on and left the house. We came back later to a house full of water that went all over the tile and wood floors
This unit replaced your 12 year old GE profile dishwasher, hope this one lasts as long. It looks great and is quieter than the last one. It doesn't seem to have the capacity of the old one, but that maybe some taking getting used to. The new one doesn't seem have an extra rack on top and other nice features.
The 1st day I used my dishwasher it did not dry the dishes. I then remembered that my last GE profile dishwasher dried the dishes if I didn't immediately empty the dishwasher & let it set.
We have yet to have a full load come out completely clean. We are loading it and using it as recommended and have had three service calls. The place we purchased it from has been no help. As it is now, it is trash and the worst appliance purchase we have made in the last 25 years
Overall, this is a good, quiet dishwasher that gets the job done. Prior to this model, I owned a Bosch that served us well for 12 years. I've had the GE Profile dishwasher for several months now, and here are our impressions: PROS: It is very quiet. Occasionally, we hear it switch cycles, but overall, the noise is minimal. Three racks are extremely useful, especially for smaller items. Excellent cleaning performance. We've never had to rewash a dish, and we're especially pleased with the steam cycle feature. CONS: Compared to our former Bosch, more interior parts are plastic. While they don't feel cheap, the difference in materials is noticeable. The buttonless control panel on the door edge can be frustrating. Sometimes it takes multiple presses for a command to register. I wouldn't be surprised if this panel is the first thing to fail over time. Spacing on the bottom rack is too wide for standard dishes. It seems designed with larger pans or pots in mind, but if you're not using those, regular plates and dishes can shift around when moving the rack. Final Thoughts: While this dishwasher doesn't feel quite as solid or premium as our previous Bosch, it works very well. For us, it's a bit like owning a BMW for years and then switching to a top-of-the-line Chevy—you'll still get where you need to go, but you'll notice the difference in the ride. That said, we're happy with the performance and especially the quiet operation. Overall, it's a good dishwasher.
