GPS was considered essential. The heart rate information has significantly improved my exercise program. Other calculated data has been really nice to have. I like having specialized activity apps already in the watch with more available to be added as well as many available report widgets also available on the watch and online to be added if desired.
I have had this watch for 6 months now and I am not happy with it. I could list at least 30 problems with the watch. First the steps, the watch doesn't track your steps correctly I have been in the car and counts my steps, and I have walked for a good 10 miles and only counted 20k steps witch is incorrect. The gps is not good at all and will almost never work. Connecting with your phone is a pain in the but if you are lucky it will connect for the whole day even when you have your phone with you. Sometimes it doesn't track your intensity minuets, etc. You are probably thinking that it is because of how long I have had the watch that there are so many problems, but these problems have been happening Sense the first day I have got this watch. There are some good things to this watch though, the look of the watch is nice, the the wristband is nice and it is still in good condition. Last is the battery the battery will last for 7 days and 5 hours of continuous use just like the label says.
Bought this watch 3 days ago and I am super pleased thus far! After having a Versa and needing more features I looked into Apple Watches and Garmin and others as well but went with the Vivo Active 3 Music. I feel like this is more of a true fitness watch with smart Phone features where as the Apple Watch felt more like a smart phone watch with fitness features. Downloading music was amazingly simple through my Spotify app and paring the headphones as well. My walk today in my neighborhood was spot on with the built in GPS. So far so good!! I love it!
I really like this watch. It has so many features that I'm constantly finding new ways to use it. The Connect IQ app is great. It gives me so much information to track, compare and improve my workouts. I haven't tried Deezer or Spotify, so I cannot comment on that. A couple of downsides. 1) The bluetooth connection with my Galaxy Buds was very iffy when wearing the watch on my left wrist. When switched over to my right, no problems at all. Just a hassle to switch. Also, I wish there was a voice that read the running splits during my runs. I had that on my phone with MapMyRun from Under Armour. Oh well, I guess you can't have everything. I would still by this again.
After one day in, I am thrilled with my vivoactive 3 music. I have had a Tomtom spark cardio music for the last few years and was sorely disappointed when I couldn't get another one after the battery failed. I read a bunch of reviews and came to either this or a Fitbit ionic. It seemed the reviews were a bit mixed for both. I settled for the Garmin hoping that my experience would be better than the reviews indicated. I LOVE it! I had no trouble loading music, connecting to my headphones, linking to Strava, or anything else. Some of that stuff is a little complicated, but the instructions are clear, and I breezed through it. My first run today went great, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. One downside- I think the watch itsel looks a little cheap. I really wish it looked the same as the non-music version.
