Kaytee Nutri Soft Parakeet and Cockatiel Pet Bird Food Seed, 2 lb

The grains are chewy pellets unlike the seed version of bird food where birds only eat part of it and then the shell part is discarded and it piles up to make a mess. They actually eat the whole piece of food. It has a natural citrus fruit flavor as well I could smell it when I opened the bag.

That's why I'm so glad that I found Kaytee Nutrisoft! My birds tend to be picky eaters but they love the natural fruit flavor! Also, (unlike other brands) the uniquely soft texture makes it easy for them to eat without making a big mess everywhere! As an added bonus, this product is also very affordable!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 1 year old cockatiel currently enjoys a mix of seed and pellet in his diet along with occasional fruit and veggies. I introduced this product and for transparency purposes, I did receive this for free a couple weeks ago and wanted to wait to write this review. So far, my cockatiel seems to enjoy this brand. I slowly introduced it to him for a few weeks and he wasn't picky about it, so much that I was confident enough to have it become about 80 percent part of the mix currently. I will say, don't be discouraged if your bird doesn't immediately eat this food, you have to slowly introduce them to it. My cockatiel didn't immediately love this food but now he likes it.

Even our pickiest eaters have chosen to eat the pellets! The product is affordable and the texture/appearance of the food looks truly healthy for our feathered kids.

They seemed to have really enjoyed the Kaytee NutriSoft Parakeet & Cockatiel food. They haven't made "soup" by mixing the food in their water dish, meaning they must like its original texture. Kaytee has always been a reliable brand for our flock. They have a wide variety of products in addition to the NutriSoft line. I'd highly recommend this to any cockatiel/parakeet owner!
