Columbia Men's Newton Ridge Plus II Waterproof Hiking Boots (Elk/Black, 10.5, D)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In the past I have typically been very impressed with Columbia footwear. I decided to try these boots since I need a good waterproof boot with structure for work. They are comfortable once broken in, but the first day of wearing them my feet were soaked, and have been ever since. I haven't taken them through deep water or anything, just walked in some light rain and short grass. If you're looking for a serious waterproof boot, try something else.

Upon wearing them around to try to break them in, I noticed it didn't really seem necessary to do! They are SOOO comfortable and supportive. 100% chance I would purchase these again.

I've been so pleased with all the Columbia Sportswear hiking boots I've bought so far (at least a half dozen pairs in the last year or less) that I bought two pairs of these when I found them in my size (15) and on sale. I've only worn one pair, but wore it all day the first day without issue. As good as I have come to expect from their hiking boots.

My brother is a Contractor in California and loves these boots as I purchased them for him last year for Christmas. He let my mother know if I needed any gift ideas again this year another pair of these boots would be great! He approves of the true to size fit and has commented they have been tested in all work and weather conditions.

I ordered 7 pairs of these boots for my students! We spent 2 weeks backpacking in Yosemite and I didn't hear one complaint about their feet. WOW! Everyone was blister free and dry despite crossing rivers and 10 mile hikes each day. The students had very little time to break in their boots prior to the trip.
