(12 pack) Honey Stinger Classic Energy Gels 1.2 oz Pouches, Gold

I love these! For long cycling rides (8 hours or more) the bulk of my nutrition will come from these. I take 1 every hour (or half hour depending on intensity) and make sure to drink .5L to make sure it's properly digested. It's got enough caffeine to give a slight boost but not enough to negatively affect performance. Lightweight, tastes good, and helps me perform. What's not to like?

Love the product, but the change from 110 calories to 90 per packet is troublesome. That's a 40 calorie deficit every hour. On a long endurance ride, that adds up to a lot of missing energy. Why not stay at 100 calories at least? Now, I have to re-think my fueling strategy.

I love these honey gels and use them for cycling and hiking, they taste great and Honey Stinger is the only gel I like and regularly use these days so I ordered a box of 24 instead of picking them up individually. Sadly, this shipment came with some of the packets leaking out a few of the edges, so there was honey gel all over and I had to individually clean the sticky mess off each packet and inspect it for whether it was one of the leaking ones. Ugh.

I would have given 5 stars, except the packaging was terrible. The display boxes that the honey stingers come in were both opened, and honey stingers were all over the inside of the shipping box. Some of the honey stingers were broken open, and gell was all over the other packets.

I love the gels since they're easy to carry on a run or keep in the car but also they go down easy when you're on the go! The chews are a little sticky once I'm running, so the gels are a perfect alternative for someone who doesn't like to chew a lot on the run.
