Hamilton Beach Durathon Digital Retractable Cord Iron, Silver, Model 19902F

This has to be the BEST Iron I've ever used…. And I've used a lot of irons in my day. In fact it was my chore to iron the family clothes. This Iron is easy to use, the heating element heats up quickly, the retractable cord is nice, the digital menu is a nice touch, and the smoothness of the Iron on your clothes is amazing.

Solid without being too heavy. Big iron face to minimize ironing time. Multiple temperature settings for different fabrics and the steam features are excellent. Easy to navigate push button controls. Large water reservoir and easy to clean and doesn't leak. Heats up very quickly . The only drawback that I've found is the retractable cord doesn't actually recoil very well so I don't see it as a handy feature.

This seems to be a good iron. Heat is fine and does a good job. I do find that the position for filling the water reserve is awkward (should be reversed for easy filling). Also the coloured plastic makes it difficult to see how much water is in the tank. Why couldn't it be a much lighter colour?

This is the first new iron I've owned in over 10 years. Boy am I happy to have the Hamilton Beach Chrome Electronic Iron 14955 is the best iron I've ever had. The steam capability is like nothing I ever had. It has a very powerful blast of steam and has spray and vertical steam, which is great for steaming without ironing. I had great results with every item I used it with. I love that it's anti-drip which means no burns from hot water. The retractable cord is a first for me. I love the fact that I don't have to wrap the cord around the iron. The stainless steel soleplate is so smooth on fabrics. The electronic controls are great, another first on any iron I've owned. This iron makes ironing so much easier with all the great features. I love this iron.

I've only had this for about a week. It is sturdy and has a very long cord. It heats up rapidly to a specific temperature and puts out fantastic steam. If the directions are followed carefully, it will not drip. Has an auto shutoff just in case you are unexpectently call away from your ironing. This iron also has a ten year warranty. I only have 2 issues. 1. Has digital controls which are in a red highlight. I find this combination of black graphics highlighted with red, difficult to read. 2. Weight is 3 1/2 lbs. and I use mainly while sewing small pieces. The bulk and weight of the iron is very cumbersome. My old one was only 1 1/2 lbs. and the tip came to a sharper point for more precise corners.
