I used to ride a lot and this looked like the best value to get going again. Got it about a month ago and been out on the road several times. It shifts real well, brakes probably need some additional adjusting but it is a good (starter) bike and best for the price range and super exercise. It rides real well and gets me up and down the hills cruising very nicely. They did a great job putting it together and the Ship To Store was fast and efficient. I'm very pleased overall.
I was given this bike for my 30th birthday. In the first week of riding, I have put 30 miles on it. The only complaint I have is that the seat is hard. Its a nice bike for large guys. I'm 6'2 and weigh 225lbs and the bike fits me fine. I was out riding as soon as I put air in the tires the next day. As far as saying the bike is fast I would have to say it is. I'm pretty out of shape and smoked for 15 years before quitting and I can manage 15 mph on my rides that last 5-9 miles. I forgot how fun bike riding is since I hadn't rode one since I was able to drive at 16.
The first day I rode this bike to work (8 miles one way) all went well. The second day, I no longer could get up to 7th gear, but it would shift down below 1st. The third day i rode it to work 3rd and 4th gear skipped like crazy, and 4th would jump me to 6th, and 5th and 6th kept me in 7th. The bike's a piece of junk and I will be returning mine.
When I picked this bike up at the store in it's box, I was amazed at how light the entire bike was. Assembly was pretty straight forward. And I took it for 10 miles. It was that much fun. Gears shifts were pretty smooth. Brakes did require a little readjusting. If you have big feet (I wear size 11), be careful of the front tire rubbing into the tip of your shoes if turning sharply, which is only a problem when you are going slowly. But it was a blast to ride.
I bought this bike to use for a couple of months in Florida and am happy with it. With my saddle and pedals, it is comfortable and rides well. It doesn't shift great, but I'm working to improve that. I haven't weighed it yet, so don't know the exact weight, but it seems lighter than I expected for the price. In the first 11 days, I've ridden over 300 miles and have no complaints other than minor shifting problems. It would have cost much more for me to rent a bike, so it's a great deal.
