The bike rides real smoothe and it is a good value fof the money. The instruction could be a lot better and easier to read. Maybe in a booklet instead of on giant piece of paper. Also the pedals are giving me a heck of a time. I keep trying to screw them in straight, but can't seem to get it.

After much research (and hand wringing) I purchased this bike for street riding. I used the "ship to site" option from Walmart and the product was delivered within the estimated time frame. I did have to wait a few minutes at the store but not too long. Putting the bike together was not a huge hurdle, although, as was stated in several other reviews, the instruction manual was very little help. It seems to be a generic manual for several types of bike. I eventually put it aside and assembled the bike from scratch. Luckily, I have worked on bikes a lot, although many years ago. After riding it a little I had to adjust the shifter to stop some minor rubbing after shifting gears. Again, this was no biggie. I have been riding it about a week and am completely satisfied. The shock mechanism relieves a lot of lower extremity soreness that I had from a road bike that I had been riding, if you get my drift. I think that anyone who purchases one of these bikes will really enjoy it. Happy riding.

This bike is excellent for riding the paved trails but the rolling resistance of the hybrid tires make it less efficient than a road bike for those who want to ride long distances on smooth blacktop. I've owned this bike about a year and have been riding about 15-20 miles a day lately on the paved walking/biking trails around here. After riding this bike a few times, I retired my trusty old 1976 Schwinn Traveler road bike to the basement. This new bike is so much more comfortrable on my middle-aged body as I ride the mildly-bumpy walking trails. I really like the precise shifting of the gears, the comfortable seat and the stopping power of the brakes. If you're shorter than average (I'm 5'7"), you may find the seat is too tall and cannot be adjusted low enough. I solved this problem by drilling and removing the top water bottle mounting lug on the seat tube. This allowed the seat post to slide further down into the frame (picture included). The bike has two sets of mounting lugs, so I use the lugs on the lower front tube for my water bottle. Since purchasing the bike, I've added a water bottle, LED headlight and taillight, digital odometer, airpump, and a gearbag for cellphone and tire repair tools. I highly recommend this bike for fitness riding on paved suburban trails.

excellent bike for the money and very smooth in the gears and brakes, suspension is very smooth, no problem with the bike at all, but i was not happy with wal-mart ship to store proccess because the bike frame was damaged and the back wheel was warped and had to have it straightend, the box was beat all up!!!!!! overall a very good but for the $$$

Do you need a great Bike ? Schwinn is just that ,,dependable quality is what this is,budget price but,,with High Tech features& saftey added as standards. This Bike ("Pathway" model)has everything you'll want in a entry level Hybrid,if you're not used to riding this type of bike this will give you every option available to try things out and see if you want to spend alot more to take your hill climbing & downhill biking adventures to a more epic level. This bike I'm happy to say is just right for me as it comes.I had ridden a SchwinnTouringBike( 27 inch frame with 27 inch tires) for 28years with little to no repair or mechanical problems in all that time..so when it came time for a new bike with ,value and special features ,The best components in this price range ,that promises to last & 24 speeds that make it easier to ride up steep hills then it is to walk at my age ,,,there was never any question that Schwinn is the #1 to choose,,and it looks Hype on top of all that as well. This Bike Is HOT. May I also suggest that if you're really not handy with tools then it's in your best interest to have a bike shop put it together as it can be a little touchy if you don't have the right allen keys to make the minor adjustments you'll likey have to..don't force things using cheap tools and strip the bolts ,,this is a Great Bike if you don't ruin a great machine by treating it poorly.(Re:Raising the Handlebars( I'm 6'2 so I had to raise the seat & adjust the bars for a better fit ..this should be done by a bike pro ! there is a extension available if you'd like them higher.) Ps.thanks Schwinn for the nice kick stand,a nice freebie,,oh yeah ok so the pedals are a little cheap, yes thats true ,,so buy some good aluminum moutain pedals and keep it movin'.
