Archos 101 Tablet, 10.1" WSVGA, 8 GB Storage, Android 2.2 Froyo

This was actually a replacement for a Kindle Fire that I got my 10 year old son for Christmas that broke within 6 hours of him opening it. The Archos has performed very well so far and is an exellent value for the money.

Does what I wanted it to do. I can surf the web, check my email, shop online, check the weather and news, etc. It also works very well as an ereader. Good enough choices in the apps library, too. I use it most of the time now, instead of my desktop computer. For the price, it's a nice tablet for those who don't want to/can't spend the big bucks for an Ipad.

I purchased the Archos 101 tablet in Aug. My first impression was that it was very cheaply made, you can feel it bend in your hands while you hold it. As far as the graphics and other options I was more then satisfied and felt that the low cost with the great options it came with more then made up for the feel of it. Until I dropped it on the floor and my first impressions more then came true it cracked the corner and the SD card came out never to stay in agian. So if you buy this tablet make sure you buy a case to protect it and don't read in bed with it thats how I droped mine. I have owned a Colby 7 inch tablet and My wife has the Kindle Fire both are better made, but this is a good buy just be warned that it does not stand up to any punishment.

I have purcased other tablets at this price point and was disipointed. I was plesantly surprised. Yes i have had to recalibrate screen a few times. May need to with each user depending on their touch style, e.i. hard or soft. Remember this is a capacitive screen, most users use to other type (heat sensative). Also, partly sluggish (not huge) due to memory type (NAND, not ram). Overall, awsome for what you pay for. GREAT SOUND, awsome graphics. I would recomend you buy the 16Gig over 8Gig for few dollars more. On a budget and want the most functionality for your dollar........BUY ARCHOS! (I AM A BELIEVER!)

I bought it three weeks ago for my husband, and he's very picky with technology, but until now this tablet meet all his expectations. Set up was easy.
