In my vehicle (VW Tiguan) it did not work on the dash. I tried mounting there and it fell over right away. I tried mounting on the window with better luck. It is VERY sticky and was hard to move when I found my original position didn't work well with my rear view mirror. So far it's holding up well. I've noticed now after a few weeks the knobs that tighten it loosen up after I remove my phone hastily so I have to re-tighten. I have a iPhone 7 plus and it fits my phone fine.
