I did not use the mic so this is not about the actual product but customer service. I ordered a new item and this was clearly not new. The item's manufacturers box was in horrible condition, very beat up, the top flap was barely holding on. The internal white box was very beat up, dinted and the seal had been broken and another was placed over top of the original. I gave it benefit of the doubt because I needed the mic for a podcast that night, so I opened it to see the actual mic and wasn't shocked to see that it had scuff marks and had clearly been used. This item was shipped from another vendor, not Walmart but Walmart needs to do a better job of making sure that these vendors are holding up their end of the bargain.

This Blue Yeti microphone was the easiest piece of equipment that I have ever set up on my computer. Very intuitive operation, and a high quality piece of machinery.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ok so this is my first USB mic, I normally use a condenser cardioid XLR mic. I tested the blue yeti against my current XLR mic, and it had a fuller sound (this was also in cardioid mode by the way), by this I mean it had a deeper, rich and more natural sound and felt like you were in the room listening to that person. Pros: Its compatibility, and ease of set up. This mic will work with any device that has a USB port it will work with; PCs, laptops, Macbooks. I found it easy to set up, you take your mic out the box plug it in and start enjoying your brilliant sounding audio. The build quality, the build quality on this microphone is very impressive and feels like it is sure to last a lifetime and would cost a lot more. The sound quality. The sound quality you get with this microphone will not be beaten by any other USB microphones on the market, in my opinion, this is the best USB out there. This has a fuller more natural sound to it, unlike other microphones I have tested. Its features, the blue yeti has 4 modes that allow the mic to pick up different patterns. The main one I use is cardioid as it will just pick my voice up, but if you are using this for podcasting bidirectional would be a great choice. It also has a stereo and an omnidirectional mode for infinite possibilities Cons: The dial that selects the mode is quite hard to turn. The packaging (this could be a good thing?) the packaging was quite hard to get into I was being careful as I liked the look of the box and didn't want to destroy it. It was a sturdy box so you could say this just gave the mic more protection you can be the judge of that. I think this is the best USB plug and play mic you can buy. The reason I say this is because it has a superb build quality it's all made out of metal. The sound compares to XLR mics of the same price range and it has a great sound for anyone recording at home or in a home studio. This mic is a brilliant example of value for your money. I would definitely recommend it to an upcoming podcaster or streamer.
