This was my fist smart phone and it outsmarted me. I bought a tracfone Samsung Galaxy Centura (fancy name) android smart phone. I do like tracfones as I save quite a bit of money not having a contract. It was very unresponsive. If I tipped the phone even a slight bit while using it what was on the screen got lost. When I would press the phone icon the contacts group would come up instead of a number pad to dial. I need to push any icon maybe 5 times to get it to connect. The battery runs out very fast. Needless to say I am replacing it.
I'm really happy with this phone. It has voice recognition; navigation app; etc. I can customize my contact list with pictures and custom ringtones. The other feature I like about this Tracfone, compared to my older LG 800G phone, is that I can talk on it in my apartment, and my home is no longer a "dead zone"! I'm not a social media guru, and I am not using my phone 24-7, but for my usage, this phone has more than exceeded my expectations. Triple minutes; text; and data are also nice. I can probably use a 200 minute card every 3 months... great value!
I've used TracFones for years and this is my first android phone. The one thing I don't like is it doesn't display my remaining minutes. I understand there is an app for that but haven't found it yet. Otherwise it has been easy to use from the start and the reference manual has been very helpful in learning the features. My old phone died and it took about 30 minutes on my landline to get my minutes and service transferred to the new phone. Plus there was a further delay in activating it. Overall after about two weeks I'm satisfied with the phone.
This is actually my first-ever android/smart phone, so I have nothing else to compare it to.. but I think it is a pretty nice phone. There are problems, but can get around it okay. It freezes with apps sometimes, and so far, since I have had it, I have had to restart it 2-3 times every day because it froze or went haywire. It also changes the timezone out of the nowhere.. don't know how to fix it except restarting the phone again. It's pretty easy to use and does exactly what i need it to do.
I was on the phone 3 hours trying to get my number transferred. All I kept getting was just give me 3 minutes and it became 3 hours. Then I did not get the time and data card i purchased. This was another 30 minutes of just give me 3 minutes. The phone is great but i am seriously considering another carrier.
