Performs well. I can walk the distance of a football field away from my home before I lose contact with the base. The sound is very clear and there is no interference from outside electronics. My unit needed to be replaced because it never held a proper charge or lasted as long as it should have on a charge. The new one phillips sent me lasts from 9PM at night until 9AM in the morning and has only used up one third of its charge. The belt clip is a joke and the unit falls off of your waistband so I use the neck cord. Once the neck cord is on the unit it is hard to get off to clean so it gets kind of nasty. The neck cord allows the unit to swing freely...too freely. You can not wear the unit while you vaccum or clean or bend over to pick up something. You can turn up the volume and stick it in your pocket, but you risk turning it off. I find the function and settings screens to be annoying to work with and if you set the sensitivity too low, the unit only reacts to loud noises. I keep the sensitivity on high which is not a problem because there is very little white noise. My units both flash their lights without a noise happening randomly. I thought it was the fan, but it happens when the fan is not on. It was waking me up at night, but I fixed the problem by taking a wad of funtack and covering up the lights at night. My favorite feature of the monitor is the ability to talk to your child through the base station from the portable parent unit. It is nice to be able to reassure your child without having to go in the room. The temperature function is very helpful too since my son's room tends to get hotter and colder than other rooms in the house. Basically the monitor performs great, but is a bit of a pain to program and carry around. I would purchase another one and recommend it to others.

I like this monitor, I like the range and I like the lights that illuminate to tell you there is sound in the room (this can happen when you have the unit on mute or outside noise illuminates the monitor.) What I don't like is how LOUD the buttons are on the parent unit, lowering the volume on the monitor feels like it is going to wake your child. I also find that the parent charging station is often a little "wonky." If the parent unit isn't it the perfect position the unit won't charge. I also enjoy the sound alarms that tell you if the temperature is too warm or too cold and the feature that alerts you to loud sounds in the room, in case you have the parent unit on mute.

We bought this unit when my wife was pregnant stil in anticipation of our newborn arrival. The entire experience has been a great experience. There are zero cons, about the product... it's truly an exceptional product! Philips has thought of everything on this... If there is anything negative I could say it would be that a replacement battery-pack isn't something you can easily find a replacement for. We had ours for about 18+ months and the batter was frequently needing charged, so I wanted to replace it. When I contacted Philips CSR to confirm what works with the unit, it was still under warranty and they replaced it for absolutely FREE! Totally blew me away! While this is going to temporarily solve my issue, at some point I will need a new battery pack again. I see this as being a good room monitor / remote for people (like us# who live in a 3 story townhome or larger homes to beacon if anyone needs a drink or anything while you are up / etc. My personal favorite feature is the distance at which you can walk away from the base and still be connected. Our mailbox is just short of 100 yards #estimating) and not a direct "line of sight", but I can hear our daughter breathing during her nap, while I check the mail. If you are comparing this unit to another, STOP! ~ This is the better unit!

Music is tinney...too much feedback...and doesn't play long enough. Should have a feature where you can prees the music on from the parent unit, not just the baby unit. Otherwise, the actual monitor works fine.

I love this monitor so much I have 2, one for each child. It's very clear and the range is wonderful. I love the lights that go off when there's a change in the sound level. It's great that I can also monitor the temperature in the child's room, that's a very useful feature for me. My kids love the lullabies that the monitor plays. I only wish I could play the music for longer period or that I could turn it on from the parent unit.
