Greenworks - Universal Gutter Kit - Green

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the universal gutter cleaning kit along with a new battery power blower hoping the pair would work together. Unfortunately, they don't. You have to hold the blower with one hand and the extension with the other hand. This: 1) reduces the extension 2) makes it unsafe to work from a ladder 3) makes it harder to control as you are using one hand to control the long nozzle which has the mechanical advantage and offset thrust. What it needs is a part that goes inside (and matches) the blower's nozzle and screws into the attachment to make a firmer fit. This can be done when you manufacture both.

Tool was delivered on time , easy installation on my Greenworks blower.The cleaning kit was simple to assemble to the size needed to reach my gutters, worked great and best of all no more ladders for me.

I needed an extension kit for my 60V GreenWorks Pro blower (170mph 700cfm which I love) but this kit almost went-back into the box for return. Once the fabric adapter/cowling is secured to the blower, the extensions flop-around freely making it almost impossible to use: with one hand you hold the (heavy) extension assembly and the other of course holds the (even more heavy) blower. How are mere mortals expected to hold this straight-up into the air??? I was able to circumvent the design wierdness as follows: 1. Leave the blower's original 4" tube (some 16" long maybe) attached i.e. snapped-in-place 2. Take off the blower's round concentrator nozzle 3. Stretch the gutter kit's fabric adapter over the tube and pull it back tight as far as it will go 4. Screw-in to the adapter one of the four kit's extension nozzle/tubes and TIGHTEN! 5. Put the blower on its back-end on the floor and let the adapter and extension tube fall back into the blower. There's only an inch or so of fabric left to deal with. 6. Now the magic: Take the blower's concentrator nozzle and slide it over the extension tube and over the fabric adapter. Push it onto your blower's tube as tight as possible. 7. The extension tube is now Better, but to finish the job find a piece of 1" thick packing foam (mine was maybe 4" wide and 6" long) and stuff it between the round concentrator nozzle you just put on, and the extension tube. 8. It's now secure and ready for attachment of more tubes, or the curved end piece. As far as I can tell there's virtually zero air lost when blowing and no chance of the "concentrator nozzle" (round tip) coming-off the blower either. At least, mine stuck so good it's hard to get off again. I love my GreenWorks blower, chainsaw, and lawn mower but raspberries to them for not making gutter kit parts that specifically fit GW blowers. I'd have gladly paid extra for a snap-on adapter for my BL60 Model 2419502VT.

The unit works very well blowing out the leaves. Instructions could be better to know that the extension tube for my Greenworks blower needs to be removed before petting the gutter parts on.
