It has adjustable setting for speed. Depending on how you are sitting will influence the effectiveness of the message. I have to change positions to increase or decrease intensity and for it to effectively massage my shoulders.

I like that there is a heat feature and the cushion massages upper back down to glutes but the glute massage is not very comfortable. It is kind of painful and unpleasant because I can feel the massage balls.
