Just needed a phone and text to use rarely at a modest cost. This one seems to fill the bill. Easy to use. prepaid, etc. Perfect for me
A good product for staying in touch with friends and family. I chose this phone because texting via its hidden keyboard is so much easier. Inexpensive.
She had the Lumia 521. Was too big to fit in her pockets. This one fits and makes phone calls. Enough said
There's some confusion over the capabilities of this product, especially since T-Mobile saw fit to use the model "Sparq" on more than one phone. This is the one with: NO network capability. NO call-over Internet capability. NO ability to pull email (like Gmail, etc.) Do not be fooled; search for Sparq capabilities all you want, this is the one that does NOT do any of the above. Wasted money, IMHO.
I got this phone for 3 reasons: My smartphone broke, I wanted to get away from phone dependency and therefore didn't want another smartphone, and I didn't have a lot of money to spend. All I really wanted is something that made calls, texted, took pictures, and played music. I must say, overall I am happy with my purchase. Taking a step down from a smartphone was a bit of a culture shock at first, but it wasn't horrible. At this point, I don't even want to go back to a smartphone. Note: I have a T-Mobile plan, so I'm not using this as a pay and go. If you have a regular T-Mobile account, putting in your SIM card will allow it to work as a "regular" phone. Why I've been spending hundreds of dollars in a T-Mobile store for phones is beyond me! Benefits of the phone: 1) Super small and portable 2) Pretty user friendly 3) Battery lasts for 2 days even if you spend a few hours talking on it and lot of time texting 4) QWERTY keyboard works well, and the phone has T9 so it will correct some of what you're trying to type 5) Music player works well 6) It has a port for the micro SD card, so you can access any music/pictures you have 7) I have had less phone call disconnections with this phone than my smartphone (I have an issue with low reception in my house, but that's barely posed a problem with this phone) 8) It seems pretty sturdy; I've dropped it a few times with no issues. If it breaks, it's not exactly like I'm out a lot of cash, anyway. Disadvantages: 1) It claims to have internet, but there's no Wifi connection abilities and the MAX it gets is 1G. In my opinion, don't even bother. 2) The camera is meh, but that's to be expected. 3) Downloading apps isn't possible (not that I've been able to see anyway), so what you see is what you get 4) The music player doesn't have an option to create playlists. 5) The speakerphone feature, for both calls and the music player, plays over the phone speakers even if you plug it into headphones and/or your car (not a big deal, really, but throws me off a bit) 6) If you have any high quality pictures on your Micro SD card, you won't be able to view them on your phone as the memory can't handle them. I think the highest picture size it can view is somewhere in the ballpark of 200KB. For the price, you really can't beat it if you don't want all the bells and whistles. It's not as archaic as a Razr (which I had to use in the interim once my phone broke until this one came in), but it's not as advanced as a smartphone. It's middle ground and good from breaking away from looking at your phone all the time without completely losing all your capabilities. In the meantime, my digital camera, GPS, and MP3 player will be getting a little more use for some of the bells and whistles I used to have...not really a big deal.
