Too often products are made for women that don't work properly. Such as razors. They try to make "softer female friendly" razors and I find that men razors work way better. I feel the same about this product. I decided to use a different epilator after my last one broke, but I have to go over the same patch of hair VARIOUS times for it to pick up all the hair. All I want it to do is it's job on the first run. I think I'll go back to using the brand I had before. To say the least, pretty disappointed. This has way too many gadgets attached to it when all I need is one good epilator without the millions of pointless things that come with it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I have psoriasis and having to shave my legs actually irritates the patches. I used to spend hours plucking each hair out of my legs (I know, crazy). But this epilator is SO good. I definitely started on level I, and didn't have to use the ice pack afterwards - but did use it before. A few hairs were really difficult, but this thing is such a great investment. And I could use it over my psoriasis without it getting irritated (and no bleeding which was not avoidable with shaving). [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've never used an epilator before so I was a bit wary especially as I'd heard they were painful to start off with. The version I received had a "newbie" gentle setting and a cooling ice mitt that you could use to numb the areas to be epilated. I tried it on the dreaded top lip and chin first and experienced a slight plucking but nothing too bad. It removed the hair well and left no redness as waxing and removal creams sometimes do. Then I progressed to my lower legs. Well, even with the numbing mitt it was excruciatingly painful, especially across the shins. I couldn't even complete a leg. Plus, the area I had gone over was left feeling stubbly. Armpits - just don't even go there. I won't be ever again. Overall, good for the facial fuzz but I just could not tolerate the pain elsewhere. And it was not a close "shave". I'll keep using it for facial use but afraid my trusty razor will stay with my legs and armpits.
It breaks the hair off instead of pulling it. Terrible for fine hair. Overpriced for its performance.
Since I'm a first time user of an epilator I have to say I found it painful. The product is very good, and I found it to be a good purchase. Especially, bc of the two settings it has. One it for a gentle, kinder...the other..well, isn't. Hold your breath ladies as it might hurt; but no worse than waxing, where they rip a bunch of hair out all at the same time...ouch!! There has to be a nack to using the Braun Silk, I just haven't found it yet. But I've only had it for a couple weeks. If anyone out there is a regular user of similar product; maybe you've got some pointers to share.
