Thoroughly enjoying it.
I don't normally write bad reviews, but I have to say that I was pretty disappointed with this popcorn machine. I purchased the machine so that we could pop popcorn for our "Pickles & Popcorn" Fridays for the school PTO. We have one machine, but we need another due to high demand. As soon as we took the machine out of the box, I was already a little skeptical. The kettle looked pretty small (it was supposed to be 8 ounces). When compared to our 6-ounce machine, this kettle was even smaller than ours. In spite of this, we went ahead and put the machine together. The materials are really low quality - the 'funnel' bottom is made of plastic and the part that is supposed to catch the kernels is basically a bunch of slots around the opening in the bottom of the funnel. I have to admit that we didn't even try the machine, however I cannot see how these little slots were going to satisfactorily catch many un-popped kernels. The thing that finally made me give up on the machine was trying to put the kettle on to the machine. The 'pegs' on the kettle did not sit properly on the latching brackets coming down from the ceiling of the machine. We might have even been able to deal with that except that the gear on top of the kettle was not properly aligned with the gear in the ceiling. Every once in a while, we could get them lined up, but as soon as you let go of the kettle, the gears came apart. Unless someone were to stand there and hold the kettle at the "proper angle", the two gears would not stay together. I suppose that if someone wanted a "novelty" to use very occasionally in their home (with constant supervision), or if you just want to use it for decoration, this might be a fun thing to have around. However, if you are planning on popping popcorn without having to baby sit it, you probably want to find another machine.
Bought this for the wife's birthday. She wants to make popcorn every night. Price was good. Makes it fast. No problems with it what so ever. Some of the reviews stated that there were issues I have had no problems at all. Makes a large quantity at on time
This is to replace the 6oz popper that I gave to a church for there flock to use an enjoy. The 8oz size of this popper is much nicer and my girls, Molly and Bella love getting more corn to eat. ( English short hair pointer and Boxer) There a little spoiled. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because of the kernel catcher and how the popcorn is dispensed by turning a handle to drop the corn into a tub. Pain in the back side. Other then that, I will recommend it.
the popcorn will not come out of top when popping and therefore plugs the kettle and burns. we have called the manufacture several times and no improvement. JUNK don't but this.
