I have had this phone for 3 years and never had any problems. My reception and sound quality is always very good. I have used it for texting, photos, and videos to save to my computer also. Works great!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I got this phone free with a 2yr contract. I didn't want to pay for a data plan so this phone works. I have dropped it pretty hard and had no problems. The fact that the screen locks constantly is a bit annoying, but you get used to it. Great for texting, sound is great.
Other reviews of this phone were not great, but I needed a quick messaging phone, the price was reasonable, and I did not think I would be as critical as those who had used smart phones and other more expensive phones. I previously used a flip phone, so had to get used to the touch screen. The camera button seems very insensitive, takes forever to take a photo, and it does not have a flash. The screen locks too quickly, seems like I have to slide it to unlock it too often. The slide-out keyboard is handy, the battery life is more than adequate. I don't use the internet on it, have a Kindle tablet for that, so I cannot give an accurate review on data usage features.
Pros - GREAT battery life. Durable. Social sites, GPS, Yellow Pages, Email, constant Bluetooth access without having to reactivate it like smartphones, microSD slot up to 32 GB, Code scanner, and awesome color. Cons - Hard to get used to for about 30 minutes if you are used to a smart phone, blackout wait time is only up to 1 minute, have to hit back button when calling automated phone numbers to dial numbers, no real lock screen except on start-up or sim card replacement, camera isn't very good quality, doesn't send signature when replying to a text unless you make a new message, and back falls off fairly easy.
My husband and I each got one of these phones because we didn't want or need a smart phone. We're enjoying them except for one HUGE flaw: The screen lock. Even when you set it to "OFF" it engages quickly during a call. This prevents using the automated answering robots that are everywhere these days. You can't press the numbers to choose options. Someone posted that they were told this is to prevent accidentally disconnecting a call. But I'd rather take that chance. I know this isn't an expensive phone so probably isn't a priority, but perhaps a software update could fix this problem.
