Honeywell .54 Cu' Antitheft Digital Safe

It surely isn't the best safe but so far it has been adequate. I have a 9 digit code programmed in and it has always worked. It feels a tad cheap, but i think it does the job it is supposed to do. It has holes if you would like to bolt it to anything. I think they are on the back and bottom. Currently I have 5 handguns in mine although one is in a gun rug and has a 6" barrel. I need a rack. I also keep other stuff in there like wallets, money and keys. It does not have a shelf which would make this much handier. I have been meaning to make my own... I wish it had a lighted keypad although I knew that it didn't when i purchased it.

I had this safe for about a year and then all of a sudden one side of the key pad wouldn't work! I purchased new batteries thinking it was the problem and even when I had replaced the batteries it the key pad would not work! Now i have to use the key and its a pain because it takes serveral times for the key to work. But, before that problem happend i loved the safe and it was easy to use.

I could not locate the red button to program a new security code. So, I had to disassemble the entire door where I found the red button had become disconnected and it had retracted into the door compartment. I had to then use a nut and washer that were in the safe but obviously had come undone, thus allowing the red button to disappear into the safe door. Quality control should ensure that the red button is securely installed. Once I repaired it, it's fine.

Different safe arrived than pictured. The key pad was vertical instead of horizontal. Checked the model number and they match. Might have been the older version. Unit came with batteries corroded and dead. Replaced batteries. Keypad still not working. Key works. Returning it to the local wal-mart was no problem.

Not alot of safe for the money (not even made by honeywell). Description is mis leading (make you think that it's a stong safe that's hard to break into. Can be opened with a HAMMER. Not same as picture, cheep electronics. Thin steel that drills right through or can cut w/tin snips. Not very protective, good for kids.
