LG LS620Y Pulse Prepaid Smartphone Virgin Mobile

This phone cannot be activated as Virgin Mobile no longer has the Custom Plan. Thus, I had to send the phone back to Walmart.

I bought two of these phones last November for my son and me to sign on to the Virgin Mobile Custom plan. The is (was, now replaced by Data Done Right) a great plan as you can totally customize usage and add or subtract time as needed. It was the first smart phone for both of us, and works well in various apps, as well as phone and texting. The downside is that this phone has under 2 GB of internal storage (compared to 4 or 8 GB with other phones in this price range). Since the Android OS, a installed, takes approx 1 GB of the storage space, you will soon get warning for lack of internal storage. At this point, even though I cleared out data on many apps, the internal storage is insufficient for an important update. I added a 16 GB memory card, but Android will only allow pictures, & music storage there, as very few apps can be moved to the storage card, and even when an app is moved is still stores data in internal storage, so it still fills up quickly. So now after less than a year, we need to get new phones just because of the storage space issue.

Virgin Mobile Custom is a little known secret for those who are moderate mobile phone users. The LG Pulse is a very capable phone for handling phone, messaging, and data. Buy the phone and customize the service to your exact needs with no contract. You can even change the level of minutes, messages, and data at any time during the month if you need more or less. Less expensive than most other plans and only available at Walmart.

As a senior who didn't use my previous prepaid flip phone for anything besides making calls, I was in the market for a new smart phone that wouldn't break the bank. Virgin Mobile's LG Pulse fit the bill perfectly. It was easy to set up and the Virgin Mobile's custom plan is extremely flexible. I set up with 250 minutes of talk and 250 texts for less than $12.50 a month. I have wi-fi at home and there are hot spots at most places I go so I didn't need a data plan. If I ever do need to add a data plan it would be very easy to do. The phone is everything I hoped for. Battery time is great, the calls are crystal clear, the screen is bright and clear. I did, however, add a matte finish protector to the screen to reduce the appearance of fingerprints and glare. All in all, I couldn't be more pleased. I suspect I'll soon be using the phone for a lot more than just making calls. Thank you Walmart and Virgin Mobile!

The phone works great for me and If you are not a heavy user this phone plan is good also for the price. The phone has all the apps and features of a more expensive phone. I use the 250 minutes, text and data for $20 a month. But be careful, if you need more data you should get a better plan.
