This is my 4th one within 3 years with minimal use. Not from Walmart, but the phone itself. It would work fine and then just stop working on all four phones.
Motorola Brand makes a solid and dependable device. This unit was NOT available on the Tracfone site, or at my local Walmart. Site2Store pickup offered me the product I wanted, at an excellent price point. Unlike cumbersome "HIP CLIP" phones, This product is pocket size, yet with a nice 4.3" display. It has all the bells and whistles you would expect in a smart phone, and a battery that really does "last all day" . HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT !!!
I was somewhat apprehensive in buying the Moto E because of the low price. However, it's a great phone as a starter phone. It's sturdy and easy to navigate with the Android O/S. The camera is okay but won't suffice for those that want HD photos or videos. The camera doesn't have a light, therefore you want to make sure there is plenty of ambient lighting. It comes with a 4MB SD card and can be upgraded to 32MB. I had a little trouble getting the phone to access my secure WiFi network. But once it did it has remained linked. Overall it's a good buy for the price.
This is a great phone for a first time smart phone user. I recommend reviewing the tracfone tutorial before beginning any set up. Additionally, if you don't have wifi, to avoid data charges, use your computer to set up your google play account. Once that is set up, this phone just cruises along and will be more user friendly. Also, purchase the 32 gig SD card. Keep the battery charged (it seems to go fast when watching movies and playing games). I may be biased because I've never owned an iPhone or any other android device, but I honestly see no reason to pay so much money for a fancy phone. This phone does everything I need it to and more. The screen is crisp and clear, the sound is wonderful and did I mention the price? Excellent deal all around.
It is fast enough for most, and built strong. It runs on the CDMA system which uses Verizon towers, so if they perform well in your area you'll be happy. The price of $30.00 was great. I am very happy I upgraded from an older slow LG 306 which was good for talk and text, but any other was frustrating. I have no frustration with my new Motorola E. Number one, know which towers are running in your area before you pick a phone. Last, I don't talk all that much so I got the monthly credit card deduction for a 90 day plan for 60 minutes which "triples" to 180 minutes, and any unused minutes or text or data transfers over to the next month. That boils down to $10.00 a month to use this phone. I have used Tracfone's "chat" feature twice now, and both times they were real good at helping me transfer my old number to my new Motorola E. I am a happy camper, oh, it takes nice pictures on the rear facing camera too.
