I purchased this car seat once my son out grew his rear-facing infant seat. For the price (and free shipping with site to store) we figured we were getting a pretty good deal, and I think we have. We've been using it just under a month. My son enjoys sitting in it and it seems like it's pretty comfortable. One selling point for us was the reclining capabilities since my son falls asleep in the car a lot. Since we're in a rural Wyoming town, any big shopping trip takes over an hour each way, so it was important that the seat be comfortable for my son to sleep in. He's done pretty well so far...definitely not as much head bobbing as if it were just a strait up-and-down seat. Installing it was easy. It shifted around quite a bit using just the seat belt, so we also used the top anchor (we don't have a latch system in our vehicle). A downside to using the top latch is that it makes it impossible to recline the seat without undoing the latch and then reclining it. We do that before a long trip so it's just always reclined. The colors are great and the shoulder pads are really nice. It's a seat that will last quite a while and that we're really happy with.
I like everything about this seat minus the fact that it is very hard to take off the cover when you need to clean it. My son got sick in the car and I had to remove the cover to put it in the wash and it took me over an hour to do this. According to the instructions on the seat part of the car seat there are suppose to be snaps to remove the lower half of the cover and it did not have them. Instead it had the elastic straps which would have been okay if they had been put in the correct place. I ended up having to cut them to take the cover off because they were intertwined with the spring and the metal bar, leaving no possible way to take them off but to cut them. Now I have to to figure out how I am going to keep that part of the seat down. I like the colors and everything else about this seat just not the removal of the cover. Just a warning for those who don't like to fight with your car-seat.
Only negative was that it is definitely bulky. once i got the initial set up figured out (took a while) it got easier. but seat was easy to clean and very comfortable. my daughter is 23 pounds and very tall and she sinks down in it a bit but its nice transition from laying position from baby car seat.
I bought the seat for my 1 1/2 year old son and he loves it just as much as I do. I love color of it is so pretty. Big plus on the reclining no more little head bobbing around just love it. It sits high too so he can see right out the window. GREAT SEAT no complains.
Hi there, I have a 16 month old son, and in my Tahoe I use Evenflo Triumph Advance LX Convertible car seat. When I bought it, it was pricy. So this time for my husbands Ford truck I've decided to get something cheaper, and also something that would last until he's much bigger. So I went for car seat/booster seat from Safety 1st. I have to say my son feels OK in this seat, but since it forces his body to be in 90 degree position, he can't really stretch or get comfortable enough to sleep. Even if we use it in reclined position, it's still keeps his legs up high, he looks like he's about to fold in half. So my husband will only use it for short trips to the store etc. But as far as long runs go - I'll keep him in Evenflo which reclines as well but it's more comfortable, leaves a lot of space for stretch and lets him easily fall asleep. I do recommend it BUT for little older kids. I thik once I no longer can keep him in Evenflo, that's when we'll go to Safety 1st. Good luck.
